A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DOS MOVIMENTOS SOCIAIS PARA A EFETIVAÇÃO DA EDUCAÇÃO DO CAMPO: A EXPERIÊNCIA DO PROGRAMA NACIONAL DE EDUCAÇÃO NA REFORMA AGRÁRIA

RESUMO:

   Historicamente, a educação dos povos do campo foi negligenciada, restringindo-se a parcos projetos de alfabetização. A partir da década de 1990, há uma articulação dos movimentos sociais do campo para promoção da educação no meio rural. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar de que forma o Programa Nacional de Educação na Reforma Agrária (Pronera) contribui para a efetivação do direito à educação e para a concretização dos objetivos fundamentais da República, estabelecidos pela Constituição Federal de 1988, além de apontar a importância que os movimentos sociais tiveram para a formulação e manutenção desse programa.

ABSTRACT:

Historically, the education of the country people was neglected, restricted to mere projects regarding literacy. From the 90s, there is an articulation of rural social movements for the promotion of education in rural areas. The objective of this work was to analyze how Pronera (National Program of Education in Agrarian Reform) contributes to the effectiveness of the right to Education and to achieve the fundamental objectives of the Republic, established by the 1988 Federal Constitution, also pointing out the importance that social movements had for the creation and maintenance of this program.
